It’s been another busy few weeks at Elmfield.
Classes 3, 4 and 5 were treated to a book reading as part of the celebrations for World Book Day. Katie Smith came in to share extracts from her book ‘The Pumpkin Project’, which won ITV Lorraine’s Top Tales competition 2016. It’s a heart-warming story about friendship, family, and growing confidence in the style of Roald Dahl/David Walliams and went down really well the children.
Class 1 achieved a big milestone and wrote their first words in Class. They were all rightly very proud and excited!
Class 9 have been on two recent trips. First to the Islam Exhibition Centre and Mosque in Birmingham as part of their Religion/PHSE programme. They had a guided tour of the exhibition followed by a tour of the mosque, concluding with a lively Q&A session. They then went to the Black Country Museum as part of their main lesson on technology to look at technologies from the past.
Class 4 went to St Kenselm’s Church to discover the source of the River Stour as part of their Geography Main Lesson.
And last night there was the excellent Eurythmy Festival with some fabulous performances. It was great that so many parents could be there. Thanks to everyone involved for all their hard work.
