After the wonderful ceilidh last week we’ve now got the Folk Concert to look forward to tomorrow night, Friday 24th at 7.30pm. The concert promises an evening of world-class traditional and contemporary folk music performed by Alumni and students of the Newcastle Traditional Music degree course and friends. They’ll also be helped by pupils from the Folk Fortnight Morning Module.
The line-up features Dan Walsh (banjo), Matt Price (guitar), Anna Hughes (fiddle), Toni parker-Smith (flute), Will Pound (harmonica), Imogen Bose-Ward (fiddle), Arian Sterreveld (guitar/vocals), and our own Nathalie Fischer (vocals). During the ceilidh we were treated to a sample of their talents and if that was anything to go on it will be a great evening.
When we say world-class we really mean it! Will Pound is a three-time BBC Folk Award nominee, including being nominated for the BBC Radio 2 Folk Musician Of The Year 2015 Award. Dan Walsh has made guest appearances with Joss Stone and The Levellers, amongst others, and was nominated for best musician at this year’s BBC 2 Folk Awards.
Donations on the door: suggested donation £5 adults, £3 concessions. Refreshments available.
Hopefully see you there!
