Congratulations to all our pupils on their GCSE results and hard work.
Class 10 are celebrating an excellent set of results under the new grading system. 87% achieved a 4 (equivalent to a C) or above in English. This includes one 9 and two 8s plus eight Distinctions in Spoken English. In Maths 80% achieved a 4 or above. In their other subjects 90% achieved a B or above in German (with four A*s) and 89% achieved a B or above in French (with four A*s). These results are a real testament to the hard work of the pupils and staff.
Class 11 have now completed their GCSEs and are heading on to various local Sixth Form Colleges. We wish them all the very best for the future.
We are also delighted that one of our former pupils, Amara Heyland-Morrin, has been accepted into Cambridge University to study English Literature after two years at King Edward VI College in Stourbridge.
As well as our pupils have done in their exams, GCSEs are only one part of what we consider success at Elmfield. Far more important is that pupils leave with a real sense of who they are, confident to take the next steps in life and keen to play their part in the world. In that regard our leavers, as usual, are a credit to themselves and the school.
