Goodbye to the wooden huts

As mentioned in Loose Ends recently, work began this week to dismantle and remove the buildings that were previously the Estates Hut and Goethean Science Room. Due to the increasing popularity of the school and subsequent increase in pupil numbers we need to free up more space in the school grounds for two new classrooms. After careful consideration this area of the school was chosen as the most sensible and cost-effective to develop.

Thanks to great efforts behind the scenes we have arranged with the Black Country Museum for the buildings to go to them. They are currently dismantling the huts and will in time re-build them on their site. They will soon be being used by their education team to accommodate school visits during their lunch breaks. It’s lovely to think they will continue to benefit schoolchildren for many years to come.

A full update on the plans for the cleared site will be announced shortly.

In the meantime we would remind everyone that the site is off limits for safety reasons until all work has been completed.
