Classes 1, 2 and 3 enjoyed a delicious picnic feast in the sunshine yesterday as part of their Michaelmas celebrations. Ingredients for the picnic on the front lawn had all been either gathered, harvested or prepared by the pupils, staff and parents. There was soup, fresh bread and apple crumble. The apples had been gathered at Ashfield Farm and Class 1 had spent the morning shucking and preparing sweetcorn for the soup, while Class 3 prepared their potatoes.
Accompanying the meal were the sweet sounds of the Grimaldi Band who then led a dance-and-sing-along at the end. What a lovely way to spend an afternoon!
