Class 11 presents: Serjeant Musgrave’s Dance by John Arden, Thursday 17th & Friday 18th February.
Set in a frozen English mining town in the 1890s, the theme is insurgency, the war on terror, fear, poverty and violence. Many questions are raised, and few answered.
Redemption is no easy matter and happy endings are for West End musicals, which may be why it is rarely performed. But there is a language and hope for the better that challenges all of us to live in truthfulness.
We would suggest the content is more suited to older children, but it is a PROMENADE performance, and all are welcome who could accept the strength of the medicine.
