Summer fun

The summer term is well under way now and we’ve even been blessed with sunny weather most of the time. Here’s a round-up of some of our recent events and activities…

The concert by Robin Ireland, Thomas McMahon and Janine Parsons to raise funds for the Class 11 trip was a great success with the large audience really appreciating the talents of these highly skilled musicians. We’re already looking forward to the next time we can persuade them all to play for us again.

Our annual May Day celebrations went ahead on the front lawn and were even more colourful than usual thanks to the wonderful PTFA who very generously bought new ribbons for the poles.

Class 4 put on a fabulous outdoor performance of their class play ‘Thor and the Giants’ which the parents all really enjoyed.

Classes 1, 2 and 3 had a special visit from Janet Klaar and her two guide dogs Cassie and Sweep. Cassie was on the verge of giving birth to eight puppies and the news today is that everything went well and she gave birth to nine puppies in the end! The children are already very excited about meting them.

Class 3 have been working extremely hard on their building project. They are creating a mobile market stall that will be able to be used by the whole school.

Class 9 had an amazing trip to Germany, staying with host families and working on the farm at our sister school, Schloss Hamborn.

And Class 10 have just been to London where they visited the Houses of Parliament amongst other things

So, lots going on and lots more still to happen.
