Congratulations to all the Upper School pupils involved in last week’s excellent performance of ‘Taming of the Shrew’. They put on a very colourful and funny version of the Play at the Artrix in Bromsgrove as part of the annual Shakespeare Schools Festival, alongside four other schools.
Putting a sixties spin on the tale we were treated to fantastic outfits and songs from the likes of The Mamas and the Papas. The whole cast performed with real enthusiasm and at the end they received a huge round of applause from the large audience.
It’s an amazing opportunity for our pupils to experience performing on a professional stage and they all did themselves proud. An awful lot of work went into the whole production so enormous thanks go to Kelly Underwood and Caroline Price for all their tireless efforts, without them it wouldn’t have been possible.
It was a great evening and alongside Elmfield’s performance we saw ‘Romeo and Juliet’, ‘A Midsummer Night’s dream’ and ‘The Tempest’. I’m already looking forward to next year!
