PTFA – Parents, Teachers and Friends Association
All parents, teachers and others involved in the daily life of the school are members of the PTFA by virtue of their relationship to the school. However the actual work is organised by the PTFA Executive Committee which always welcomes new members.
The role of the PTFA is to bring together parents, teachers and friends to raise funds and to have fun doing it! With our fundraising we aim to enrich our children’s education by providing valuable equipment, materials, and undertaking projects to enhance the building and facilities of the school. We do this by organising a variety of social and fundraising events throughout the year. Fundraising events also provide an opportunity for parents, staff and pupils to get together.
Please complete and return an Application for funding from the PTFA if you would like to receive funding from the PTFA.
In recent years the PTFA funds have purchased equipment for:
Duke of Edinburgh
Benches for outside
Parent and Child Group
and a piano for the school!
The PTFA has also contributed towards the annual Folk Festival, the refurbishment of the sand house and the gardens for Nursery and Kindergartens.
The PTFA also gives each class from Early Years all the way through to Upper School an annual amount of money to purchase any equipment that the class teacher feels is needed for that particular class.
The main PTFA fundraising event is the Advent Fayre which takes place every November at the School. Other fundraising activities are also organised throughout the year.
As a thank you to the children, parents and school the PTFA hold an annual Bonfire and Firework Display (usually at the beginning of November) which is free for all to enjoy.
The PTFA hold a meeting every 4 to 6 weeks, at least one meeting every half term. Everyone is welcome to attend the PTFA meeting and we are always eager to hear from those who are keen to come along and get involved whether on a casual basis or as a committee member.
Dates of the meeting are advertised on the PTFA noticeboard which is located on the wall outside school reception and also in Loose Ends.
For meetings taking place at 3.30pm childcare is provided by the PTFA free of charge – booking is essential! Please note this is separate from After School Care.
Communication between the PTFA and college takes place through one or two College members attending the PTFA meeting and we depend on the College representative to bring to College the questions or issues raised in the PTFA meeting and reporting back to the PTFA on the conclusions reached by college.
Please feel free to contact the PTFA via email@example.com if you have any queries or questions.
