On Thursday 19th September we hosted a wonderful evening to celebrate 100 years of Waldorf Education. We had extremely interesting talks from Nigel Lumsden and Diana Pauli. Nigel engaged us with a history of Waldorf Education, and Diana gave a fascinating history of Elmfield School including it’s founding and development. Our Upper School pupils provided an amusing yet touching performance of a cantata written by our own music teacher, Caroline Price. There was an excellent presentation from Rhiannon Taylor-Bright about the PTFA which filled us all with enthusiasm and support for the outstanding work they do; we are very excited at the promise of the erection of a new Swiss Tower, which the PTFA are providing as a celebration of Waldorf 100. We performed Eurythmy, enjoyed a musical performance by current staff members, we sang and the Council of Management launched their new Strategic Plan for the next five years.
On the next morning the upper and lower school pupils and staff had an extremely interesting talk from Janet Klaar about the wonder and beauty of our education, not just in the United Kingdom, but all over the world. Janet then spent time in the Kindergarten with the children.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the organisation of such a wonderful evening, and to everyone in attendance.
